Committed to Sustainable Palm Oil

Palm oil is an important and versatile commodity for both food and non-food industries which contributes to the economic development of producing countries and to the diets of millions of people worldwide. Palm oil production has been documented as a cause of substantial and often irreversible damage to the natural environment. Its impacts include: deforestation, habitat loss of critically endangered species such as the orangutan and Sumatran tiger, and a significant increase in greenhouse gases.

The Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was established to address these issues and to promote the sustainable production and use of palm oil. The principal objective of the RSPO is to “promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil through co-operation within the supply chain and open dialogue between its shareholders”.

Soapworks Ltd is committed to the sourcing of 100% fully traceable, certified, sustainable palm oil (SPO) for use in our products. We were the first soap manufacturer to supply SPO soaps to the retail environment in 2007, and the first soap tablet finishing company in the world to be certified to the RSPO Supply Chain Standard in January 2011.

The following Soapworks products carry the RSPO Trademark under Soapworks Ltd.'s Trademark Licence No. RSPO-1106007:
