Understanding the science of soap manufacturing

Soapworks were honoured to once again be selected to host the SCS National Schools Science Project competition winners as part of their prize for the 2018 ‘Scrub up on Science’ programme.

Our Technical & Compliance Manager, David Ridland was delighted to welcome 3 students from Trinity High School in Glasgow along with their teacher and representatives from the Society of Cosmetic Scientists.

The visit consisted of presentations, a tour of our facility and an opportunity for the students to spend time in the New Product Development lab to formulate and make their own soap. Hopefully they left with a greater understanding of how science is applied to modern cosmetic manufacturing and the importance of this to the economy. For David and the rest of the Soapworks technical team it was a chance to remind all of us of the innovative and specialist work we do.

We would like to once again offer big congratulations to the pupils and teachers from Trinity High on winning the competition and for being such great ambassadors for their school.
