We currently have a vacancy for an Operations Manager (reporting to the Managing Director).  You will be responsible for overseeing the efficient, profitable and safe running of the Operation including Manufacturing, Production, Engineering and Facilities. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will consistently align the business operations with company strategy, with particular emphasis on meeting customer requirements and specifications, budgeting and people management.
  • A creative thinker/strategiser, you will have demonstrable experience in Project management, implementing, leading, monitoring and coaching teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • The ability to develop and contribute new ideas to the innovation pipeline and support Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance and Sales teams to successfully deliver each new product launch into the market.
  • Work proactively to ensure that plant and machinery is operated and maintained in line with requirements of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Consistently meeting customer requirements and specifications and formulating action plans with senior management team to maintain the best customer experience.
  • Adept problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement efficiencies and LEAN manufacturing processes with a CANDO mind-set, to improve productivity and quality.

The ideal candidate:

  • You will have experience in an Operations or Manufacturing role at senior management level.
  • Of graduate calibre and hold a professional qualification. (MBA – Bsc/Eng) and membership of IOM.
  • Solid understanding of performance reporting.
  • Proven experience in industrial relations, inspiring and motivating employees with cooperative, constructive coaching skills.
  • A good understanding of Human Resource Management and current employment legislation.
  • You will have extensive experience of facilities management and buildings infrastructure.
  • A proven track record in cost effective procurement of plant and machinery.
  • Willing to travel on business on behalf of the company, UK and abroad, driving licence desirable.

 

Hours of Work:- Minimum of 37.5 hours per week, however a flexible approach to working hours is required.
