Soapworks Ltd achieves soap bar donation milestone

Soapworks Ltd reaches its 2 million soap bar donation after donating 225,000 soap bars to our partner charity, Glasgow the Caring City (GCC).  This recent donation has helped an estimated 7,000 homeless refugees in Eastern Europe.

Since 2002 Soapworks has pioneered Soap Aid in collaboration with GCC donating thousands of soap bars every year to help people affected by national disasters such as flooding and earthquakes as well as conflict and acute deprivation.

On 18th May representatives from Soapworks handed over the latest soap consignment to Ross Galbraith, the International Projects & Social Enterprise Manager at GCC.  Along with clothing donations from other organisations the soap joined an aid convoy destined for Serbia; on arrival a team of volunteer doctors and nurses distributed welfare packs to refugees.

Ross Galbraith, said:  "We’d like to say a big thank you to Soapworks for its generous donation.  Supporting us like this is invaluable.  The donation has enabled us to provide basic humanitarian aid to vulnerable people seeking refuge and shelter in Belgrade.”

By delivering Soap Aid, this partnership between Soapworks Ltd and GCC has helped to provide a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

Jan Zadruzynski, Managing Director at Soapworks said:  “To reach this milestone is an incredible achievement for us and we’re delighted to have been able to donate to such a worthwhile cause. We look forward to our continued relationship with Glasgow the Caring City, who can count on our support in the future.”
